As I peer out the window on an early snowy morning, I blink my eyes to make sure that what I think I see is really there.
Do you see what I see?
"If I stay still maybe she won't see me...." has to be what this Northern Flicker is thinking.
He sits frozen what seems like forever,
suddenly he flies over to the suet feeder
turning to look straight at me and the camera
as if to say "go away, I want to dine alone".
Encounters with Northern Flickers are very common in My Mountain Green, yet something about trees covered in snow makes the experience extra special.

Yes, very special Kathryn and a nice capture that brightens up the snow covered tree and your morning.
Thanks, Roy.
Kathryn, I agree! Well done!
Thanks, Kathie. I am trying to be more creative.
This is so beautiful and also an interesting bird. The snow makes everything so pretty. Do come and see the pictures I paint with words.
Cuby Poet, thanks for stopping by....I will stop by.
