Can you tell the difference between the photos below?
You are probably thinking "Well, that's easy! One has a lot of snow and the other one doesn't". Taken one year (plus a couple of days) apart, the top photo was taken December 30, 2010; the bottom photo was taken today, January 1, 2012.
This is the first year since moving to Utah just over 14 years ago that we did not have what one would call a "White" Christmas or New Years! December 2011 has gone down in the record books as the driest December of all time for Utah with .1 inches of snow at SLC airport! Even at my 5200' elevation, only a few inches of the white fluffy stuff fell from the sky.
With anticipation of promise and blessing (or impending snow "dumpage"), we can only wait to see what 2012 will bring us. So far, I enjoy not having to deal with snow removal; yet, sad that I have not been able to snowshoe in my backyard and the ridge above my house. Of course, I still have January and February to come!
Happy New Year to all!
