Christmas Treasure

Christmastime brings to mind many fond memories to most people.  For me, it brings not only memories, but special treasure - special Christmas tree ornaments.

Two most special ornaments are...

These two antique glass blown clip-on birds belonged to my grandmother, Nellie.  I don't know their origin or how old they really are, but they have been displayed on our family Christmas trees even before I was born (which was quite a while ago!) Each year as I clip these beautiful creations on my tree, I smile thinking of Nanny and Grandpa.
Nellie and Earl in June 1924.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Kathryn, you won't believe this, but I have an ornament on my tree that looks just like those! My mom just bought it for me last year and gave it to me as a present! Wow! She bought it for me because it was antique and because I like birds. Now I will think of you both when I look at it!

I have a little nest with a bluebird in it that clips on with a green painted clothespin. It belonged to my Nana. I can remember it being on her tree from when I was young. I love these types of Christmas memories!

How nice of you to post the photo of your grandparents!

Heading home today. I can't wait!

Merry Christmas to you and Steve!
